Holiday Programme for Term 3.
Churchill Park School Glendowie, Auckland
1. Describe your business
Code Champions provides after-school and holiday computer coding tuition for kids.
We cater for a range of ages and levels of coding knowledge. Our classes combine instruction with hands-on activity, starting with the basic elements of computer programming and moving to more complex skills as required.
2. What is the best thing about it?
Knowledge of computer coding is such a key part of modern learning – evidence of that is all around us, from the general interest in digital technology to the fact the subject is being added to the New Zealand Curriculum.
Whether it’s support school studies, with an eye on a career of the future, or just for fun, our classes provide an opportunity to develop computational thinking and expand understanding of computer programming in engaging and effective ways.
3. Where do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years? The next ten years?
Interest in computer coding is growing and developing quickly. We’re keen to be part of that and will evolve to meet the requirements and demands of customers.
4. Can you describe your ideal customer?
A parent of school-aged child who wants to get their kids on the front foot by improving their ability in this important digital skill.
5. Why do your customers select you over your competitors?
The quality of our tuition. The engaging and effective resources and content we use to teach coding.
Computer coding is complex. From multiple languages to multiple uses, there is no single way to code … so we don’t believe there is any single way to teach coding. Our aim is to introduce and expose students to some of the basic principles of programming. We don’t teach any one language or program but draw on a number to illustrate and practise coding techniques.
Our tutors work to help kids understand the computational thinking and processes involved, and give them the knowledge and confidence to tackle and solve the coding challenges they face. We also encourage students to continue their exploration away from the class, whether working on things we’ve given them or their own coding projects.
6. Why did you choose to advertise with CoffeeNews?
We wanted to try a new way to reach potential customers.
7. Do you have any special deals or tips for CoffeeNews readers who may be interested in your services?
We’re always keen to meet the needs of our customers, so we’re keen to hear from them, whether it’s feedback on our current tuition, to discuss requests, or explore new opportunities.
